Weekly Lottery & Raffle Terms & Conditions
1) The cost of each entry is £1. Players may purchase more than one entry, payment must be in advance. Only entries for which full payment has been made will be eligible to win a prize. Cats Protection is not responsible for any delays in bank payments. Recommended maximum purchase is 5 lottery entries, please contact us if you require more entries.
2) Entrants accept that Cats Protection are the Promotor of the Weekly lottery which is regulated by the Gambling Commission under legislation laid down in the Gambling Act 2005 as amended. Responsible Person - Lee Derrick, Cats Protection, National Cat Centre, Lewes Road, Chelwood Gate, RH17 7TT. By entering the Cats Protection Weekly Lottery and thus participating in the draw, acceptance of these terms and conditions is implied and it will be assumed entrants have read and understood all terms and conditions.
3) You must be 18 or over to enter the Lottery. Entries not to be sold by or to anyone under 18 years of age. Entrants warrant that they meet the entry age requirements and are able in all legal respects to enter and participate in the Cats Protection Weekly Lottery. The Promoter may request that you confirm and substantiate this warranty. Any person found to be under 18 years of age will be disqualified from the Weekly Lottery and automatically forfeits the right to any prize.
4) Lottery number(s) will be confirmed by post within 14 days. No ticket will be supplied.
5) The weekly draw will be conducted every Friday. In the event of a Friday Bank Holiday, that week’s draw will be conducted on the next working day. The draw will be conducted by a random number generator that has been tested and approved by an independent, Gambling Commission approved, third-party test house.
6) The winning numbers will be published at www.cats.org.uk/lottery-winners and available from the Weekly Lottery Helpline on 01628 825 928 within seven days of the draw.
7) Prizes for the Weekly Lottery are published on the Cats Protection website www.cats.org.uk/lottery-winners. There are no alternatives to any prize, and no interest will be payable. Prizes will be sent by cheque or BACS payment within 14 days.
8) There are 48 weekly lottery draws a year with the following prize breakdown; 1 x £1,000, 1 x £200, 1 x £150, 1 x £100, 1 x £50 and 495 x £5. There are 4 super draws each year with the following prize breakdown; 1 x £25,000 (Summer & Christmas draw) or 1 x £10,000 (Spring and Autumn draw), 1 x £1,500, 1 x £750, 1 x £100, 1 x £50 and 995 x £10. Based upon the average number of weekly entries in 2023 and the number of prizes in 2024, the likely chance of winning a prize for a single entry each week is approximately 1 in 229.
9) All profits from the Weekly Lottery will be used for the charitable purposes of Cats Protection. Registered Charity 203644 (England and Wales) and SC037711 (Scotland). Of the £7.62m received in ticket sales in 2023, just 12% of ticket sales went on expenses, 4% on prizes and a fantastic 84% came back to Cats Protection to fund our work with cats and kittens.
10) No liability is accepted for loss, theft or delayed receipt of any communication sent by post.
11) Cats Protection reserves the right to use the winner’s name for promotional purposes. These will only be in summary, for example Mrs Jones from Berkshire.
12) Cats Protection or its External Lottery Manager may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application, cancel an existing subscription or terminate or suspend the lottery scheme. Cats Protection or its External Lottery Manager’s decisions made pursuant to the terms and conditions shall, once made, be final and binding. All entrants are solely responsible for providing and (where necessary) updating the promoter with their accurate and up to date contact details and the promoter will be in no way liable for any failure or inability to contact any member due to any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the contact details that the member has provided.
13) Entry to the lottery is not open to employees of the External Lottery Manager or anyone else directly connected or responsible for running the draw.
14) The latest version of the Weekly Lottery terms and conditions are always available at www.cats.org.uk/lottery-rules or can be requested by calling the Lottery Helpline 01628 825 928. The terms and conditions are subject to change by Cats Protection or its External Lottery Manager.
15) The Promoter operates a Complaints and Disputes Procedure If you have complaint you can ring our Raffle team on 01628 825 928, email lottery@cats.org.uk. If you are unhappy with the way a complaint is resolved you can contact the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS). IBAS acts as an impartial adjudicator on disputes that arise between betting/gambling operators and their customers.
16) Cats Protection is committed to ensure that information about how to gamble responsibly and how to access information and help in respect of problem gambling is readily available to all. 17) Cats Protection maintains records of customer funds separately from general company / charity funds. This means that steps have been taken to separately account for customer funds from company / charity funds however those funds are not protected if Cats Protection UK becomes insolvent. This meets the Gambling Commission’s requirements for the segregation of customer funds at the basic level of protection.
New Players' Draw Terms and Conditions -
1) The Cats Protection Weekly Lottery Draw are Promoted by Cats Protection (203644 (England and Wales) and SC037711 (Scotland) the Promoter). Entrants in the New Players’ Draw must be 18 years and over and must be residents in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
2) Anyone who signs up to join the Cats Protection Weekly Lottery, for the first time, will be automatically entered into the next New Players’ Draw once their first payment has cleared. This draw is held on the last Friday of the month.
3) The draw is free and open to anyone who signs up to join the Cats Protection Weekly Lottery, for the first time, on or after 1st January 2024.
4) Only one entry per person will be made and no other entry routes are accepted.
5) Entry into the draw will be deemed to constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award a New Players’ Draw prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
6) Cash prizes of £5 will be randomly awarded to 50% of qualifying entrants.
7) The draws will be held utilising a random number generator that has been tested and approved by an independent, Gambling Commission approved third-party test house.
8) The New Players’ Draw winner details will be available via the Cats Protection Weekly Lottery helpline a week agyer the New Players' Draw date. Please telephone 01628 825 928 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm).
9) There are no alternatives to New Players’ Draw prizes and no interest is payable.
10) All lucky winners will receive their £5 prize in the form of a cheque, which will be posted directly to the winners via Royal Mail 2nd class post, within seven days of the draw taking place.
11) The Promoter may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application or terminate or suspend the scheme.
12) Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will only be processed as set out in the Promoter’s privacy policy.
13) The Promoter’s decisions made pursuant to these terms and conditions shall, once made, be final and binding.

From time to time Cats Protection may run promotional offers. These may include a code to reference on your postal form/over the phone/enter online. Details of what each code entitle the player to will be made clear within the marketing materials related to that code. The Spring and Autumn Raffles have the following prize breakdown: 1 x £10,000, 1 x £1,500, 1 x £750, 1 x £100, 1 x £50 and 995 x £10. Based upon the ticket sales in the 2023 Cat Lovers Raffles and the number of prizes in the 2024 Raffles, the likely average odds of winning a prize in the Cat Lovers Raffles for a single ticket are approximately 404 to 1.
9) All profits from the Cat Lovers Raffle will be used for the charitable purposes of Cats Protection. Registered Charity 203644 (England and Wales) and SC037711 (Scotland). Of the £2.01m received in ticket sales in 2023, just 13.66% went on expenses, 5.93% on prizes and a fantastic 80.41% came back to Cats Protection to fund our work with cats and kittens.
